Trim Lines (TriLin)

Trim lines together.

Detailed Description

Trims two lines together. The lines to be trimmed are identified by the user and consist of line 1 which is the base line and line 2, which is the line to trim. Line 2 may be short of line 1 (under-shoot) or extend over line2 (over-shoot). Options include support for a Z Rules and the noding of the baseline.

0=No 1=Yes

ZRULE=

Z rule for intersecting point elevation

0 - Original - Interpolate Z based on each line

1 - Mean - Mean Z at intersection

2 - From line 1 - Use Z from line 1

3 - From line 2 - Use Z from line 2

EXTDIS=

Distance to extend end points

Parameters

Ends of line to trim (ENDS=)

If this parameter is set to 0, the closest line 2 end to the point identified will be trimmed to line1. If this parameter is set to 1 then an attempt will be made to trim both ends of line 2 to line 1.

Node target line? (NODTAR=)

Defines if the target (line 1) should be noded when trimming against line 2. The Z Rule will be applied to this trim.

Clear target polygon? (CLEAR=)

Defines if target (line 1) should be cleared if line 2 passes through it.

Z Rule (ZRULE=)

Z Rule for intersecting point elevation. (See Z Rules)

Distance to extend end points (EXTDIS=)

The line end to be trimmed will be extended by this amount. This extension will force lines that fall short of the baseline to cross them. If the line to be trimmed does not cross the target line after extension then trimming will not be done.

Main Window Message Area

The following parameters are displayed during Trim Lines:

The result field displays the results of the last trim operation. OK will be displayed if the trim was successful and ERROR will be displayed if the lines could not be trimmed.
